2008 Olive Industry Directory out now!

More than 100 new entries were added to the 2008 award-winning Australian and New Zealand Olive Industry Directory which has just been released!

821 olivegrowers and oliveprocessors include their details in the 2008 Olive Industry Directory, published by Ryan Publications.

Victoria (186), closely followed by New South Wales (183) has the largest number of growers and processors, according to the Directory and the variety most commonly grown in Australia and New Zealand is Frantoio (623).

The cover features buds and flowers of the Frantoio olive variety. The photo was the winner of the 2008 Australian and New Zealand Olive Industry Directory cover competition, awarded to Andrew Lockyer and Jane Cotton. The judging panel felt that the new growth captured in the photo signified an optimistic outlook for the future of the olive industry.
